Creating Jobs and Supporting the U.S. Economy

Switzerland and the United States are tightly connected through intensive cross-border investments. The United States is Switzerland's most important destination for foreign direct investment (FDI)—more than Germany, France, Italy and the UK combined. With $352 billion in direct investments, Switzerland ranks as the United States’ 6th largest foreign investor. Swiss companies directly support nearly 400,000 U.S. jobs; they are especially active in manufacturing and significantly outspend affiliates from other countries in research & development.
